Palin Being Wooed by Startup Web TV Network

A new,  unnamed streaming network run by former CNN executive Jonathan Klein and ex-NBC-Universal Chairman Jeff Gaspin is trying to sign Sarah Palin, the New York Post reported.

The pursuit of Palin is tied to her popularity in social media and her outspokenness against the mainstream media, according to the Post.

The former Alaska governor, 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate, and firebrand conservative speaker has 4 million Facebook friends and more than 1 million Twitter followers. She often appears on Fox News but has no regular media column or outlet.

Palin has not committed to the new venture, the Post reported.

A television program delivered by streaming over the Internet would provide Palin with a way to directly reach voters in anticipation of the November midterm elections, according to the Post.

Former Fox News Channel personality Glenn Beck's streaming service, The Blaze, reportedly has 300,000 customers who pay a monthly $9.99 fee.

Klein, 55, was responsible for hiring Piers Morgan to replace Larry King on CNN. He later became CEO of a streaming news aggregator, The FeedRoom, that was subsequently sold.

Gaspin, 53, called attention to himself by constructing a $200,000 toilet in his NBC-Universal office, the Post said.

Both men have been connected to a venture, the new sports-related streaming network of the Anthem Media Group.
