President-elect Donald Trump called the family of a slain San Antonio police detective Monday to offer his condolences.
News4 San Antonio reports that a member of the San Antonio Police Department shared a Facebook post from the son of Detective Benjamin Marconi that referenced a phone call from Trump.
"Just got off the phone with the future president Trump, he sends his condolences to our family," the message read, according to the news outlet. The post has since been deleted.
Marconi was one of four members of the law enforcement community who were shot in the line of duty over the weekend, two of which appeared to be ambush-style attacks. Marconi was sitting in his cruiser writing a ticket outside of police headquarters when the suspect walked up from behind and shot Marconi point-blank through his window.
A 31-year-old suspect was arrested on Monday.
