"Never give a child a sword," was the ancient Greeks' admonition. With the creeping takeover of Facebook by the Biden White House and the lightest of lightweights, Jen Psaki, delivering the chilling ultimatum, this is precisely what has taken place. Power is being taken by children.
And you don’t need any more evidence than from the very mouth of Psaki herself, who in a White House briefing said cleansing Facebook of disinformation on COVID was necessary to save lives and stop the many deaths, all without facts or substantiation. What Psaki and Co. fail to grasp is that it's precisely this sort of talk that only adds to the distrust of authority figures the White House so desperately wants to curtail.
In other words, making thinly failed threats about suppressing political speech isn't going to score you any points in Middle America.
Amazingly, she doesn’t recognize peoples' right to say or write what they please, regardless of her facts.
The government — the White House — is starting to regulate speech, a clear violation of the First Amendment. If somebody does not sue to stop the White House, how soon before they take another step and obliterate political speech, all in the name of "saving lives?"
Of course, if Psaki was really interested in saving lives, she’d denounce the communist Chinese and denounce abortion in America.
And of course, she and the White House have been silent on Cuba. Of course they support the murderous regime in Havana which explains why they haven’t lifted a finger to help the Freedom Fighters in Cuba.
The real tragedy is the Republican Party is run by people too stupid to help the Cubans and score political points at the same time.
Ronald Reagan would have helped the Cuban Freedom Fighters in a heartbeat, just as he helped the freedom movements in the Warsaw countries, secreting in materiel, money, and books and morale boosting items. Reagan had the uncanny ability to call out dictatorial governments for the sham they are.
It's just a pity too many on the American Left have let their obsession with "free healthcare" become a catch-all to excuse the many atrocities committed by the Cuban regime.
This is not about "saving lives." This is about power, plain and simple. John Locke knew it. Jefferson knew it, Paine knew it, Reagan knew it, and clear thinking Americans should think it.
Alexander Hamilton once said, "A fondness for power is implanted in most men and it is natural to abuse it when acquired."
It's plain to me that Psaki, Biden and the rest of the clown show on Pennsylvania Avenue are eager to dish out some abuses.
