House Fire Death Toll Rises to 6

Friday, 05 July 2013 11:44 AM EDT

Authorities say two more people are dead from a house fire in central Pennsylvania, bringing the toll to six.

A spokesman for Crozer Chester Medical Center says Crystal Kuhns died at 7:30 a.m. Friday and her daughter Mickey died at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The spokesman, Grant Gegwich, says 2-year-old Kordell Kuhns remains in critical condition at hospital outside Philadelphia.

Fire officials say the blaze started in the kitchen of a three-story Lancaster duplex around 3 a.m. Thursday after frozen potatoes were left in the oven. Authorities say two men and two other children also died.

One victim, 65-year-old Jimmie Moore, was described by neighbors and relatives as a Vietnam War veteran who let another family move in after they lost their own housing.
