Obama Thanks George W. Bush for Cable Sports Bundle

Thursday, 31 May 2012 02:38 PM EDT

President Barack Obama usually spends a lot of time complaining about the things he inherited from predecessor George W. Bush. However, he’s pretty happy about one thing he left behind — the television sports package.

Talking Points Memo reports that at the unveiling of the official portraits of Bush and his wife, Laura, Obama offered a personal thanks to the Bush family.

“Finally, on a personal note, Michelle and I are grateful to the entire Bush family for their guidance and example during our own transition,” Obama said according to the website. “George, I will always remember the gathering you hosted for all of the living former presidents before I took office. Your fine words of encouragement. Plus you also left me a really good TV sports package. I use it.”

Both Bush and Obama are known to be avid sports fans.
