If you're a rabid fan of "Game of Thrones" and just can't wait to see next season's episodes here's a suggestion: Run for president.
That's because the producers of the smash HBO series have revealed that President Barack Obama has asked for — and will get — advanced copies of season six.
Dan Weiss, who with David Benioff, is an executive producer of the show, divulged the president's passion for their show during a "Game of Thrones" premiere event in Hollywood,
Entertainment Weekly reports.
"I think, for both of us, finding out the president wanted advanced copies of the episodes was an 'ah-ha' moment," Weiss told interviewer Veronica Belmont.
And there was no question that the commander in chief would get his wish, he added.
"Yes. He's the leader of the free world. When the commander in chief says, 'I want to see advanced episodes,' what are you gonna do?" Weiss said.
Entertainment Weekly says Obama will be the only person outside of HBO's offices to get a sneak peek at the new season because the cable network is not sending screeners to journalists or industry insiders as a way of keeping the storyline secret.
The president's clout isn't sitting well with some fans of the epic fantasy series.
"As someone who has been waiting patiently for Season 6 of "Game of Thrones … I was stunned …"
The Washington Post's Chris Cillizza fumed.
"For all I know, Obama is sitting in his White House movie room finding out ALL THE SECRETS of Season 6 right now."
Filmed in sprawling and exotic locations around the world, "Game of Thrones" is based on novelist George R.R. Martin's bestselling books about fierce power struggles on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos.
