Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says that no one from Donald Trump’s campaign has contacted him about the possibility of being the presumptive Republican nominee’s running mate, despite the rumors that he is on the list of vice presidential choices.
Appearing on
"Fox News Sunday," Gingrich said, "Nobody has called me. Nobody said, would you like to be? Nobody said, would you be willing to be considered. Nobody said anything."
When asked what that means for his prospects, considering the Republican National Convention is only three weeks away in Cleveland, Gingrich answered that Trump is "probably going to start thinking about it two days before Cleveland … I think Donald Trump does not want to make a decision until the convention. I think that he is a very decisive person."
Gingrich insisted that he was being serious, saying that, in any case, "there’s not much vetting to do. I mean, you guys have been all over me for a decade …. All you're going to do is Google."
