Poll: 77 of Millennials Can't Name Senator From Their State

Almost eight in 10 young Americans, also known as millennials, couldn't name one U.S. senator from their home state in a recent poll.

According to Fusion's Massive Millennial Poll, while 77 percent of those between the ages of 18 and 34 couldn't name one of their own senators, that won't stop them from voting in the 2016 presidential election.

More than 90 percent of those polled said that they plan to vote in the next presidential election cycle, according to the poll of 1,000 adults aged 18 to 34 taken from Jan. 6-11.

Millennial men did better at naming their U.S. senator than women in the same age group, with 25 percent of men who knew the right answer versus 20 percent of women. And men also did a better job at guessing when asked, while the women were more likely to say they didn't know rather than attempt an answer.

Only 18 percent of Latinos and 10 percent of African-Americans were able to correctly name one U.S. senator from their state. And whites were more willing to take a guess than say they didn't know.
