Vice President Mike Pence revealed Tuesday that he is not following in President Donald Trump's footsteps and is not taking hydroxychloroquine as a coronavirus preventative.
“My physician hasn’t recommended that, but I wouldn’t hesitate” to take if it was recommended, Pence told Fox News.
Pence made his revelation after a meeting of the National Space Council at NASA’s headquarters Tuessday.
Earlier, Pence is had been tight-lipped about his medical regimen.
Reporters tweeted Tuesday that White House officials would not comment on whether Pence is taking the anti-malaria drug that Trump touts as a coronavirus treatment.
“White House officials will not tell me whether or not Pence is also taking hydroxy,” White House correspondent Annie Karni tweeted Tuesday morning.
Politico reporter Burgess Everett tweeted that Pence kept walking when asked by ABC News reporter Trish Turner if he was taking the drug.
Trump announced Monday he started taken the medication about a week and a half ago.
