Marcia Clark has landed a put pilot agreement for an untitled NBC series based on her own experiences, Variety has confirmed.

The potential show is based on Clark's novel "Blood Defense," and centers on Samantha Brinkman, a relentless criminal defense attorney in Los Angeles whose world is turned upside down when she is hired to defend a police detective in a high-profile homicide, thrusting her into the public spotlight and exposing dark secrets from her past.

Clark was the head prosecutor for the famed O.J. Simpson case, and her story recently re-gained recognition with Ryan Murphy's FX series "The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story" in which Sarah Paulson portrayed Clark.

Clark will serve as a writer and executive producer on the pilot, which was first reported by Deadline, along with Elizabeth Craft and Sara Fain. Other executive produces are David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks. ABC Studios and Mandeville TV are producing.

The untitled Marcia Clark series marks one of the most high-profile projects in this year's slower-than-usual development season. Though the pilot is not greenlit yet, with Clark's heavy involvement and the resurged mainstream interest in her story, the project is surely high up on NBC's list.
