A radio host and insurance salesman is suing William Shatner for $170 million because he says the actor won't admit to being his father.
Peter Sloan, whose website describes him as "your source for Insurance and Annuities from America's leading companies," filed the suit in Florida and is demanding that Shatner submit a DNA test, Fox News reports.
Sloan said Shatner told him in 1984 on the set of "T.J. Hooker" he was his father, but a week later the actor's representative called him and said he was mistaken.
Sloan has dogged Shatner ever since, showing up at an event with the actor and even registering the Internet domain petershatner.com.
He has also hosted several radio shows.
Sloan's other website, petersloan.com,
includes this line: "In addition to Peter's experience in the financial services industry is also an author of several books under the pen name Peter Shatner."
Shatner has been married four times — his first two marriages ended in divorce and his third wife died, while he and his current wife tied the knot in 2001. Shatner has three daughters, all with his first wife.
Shatner is known for several roles, most especially as Capt. Kirk in the "Star Trek" TV show and movies.
