Rep. Zeldin: Video Posted to Mosque Page 'Deeply Disturbing'

(Fox News' "Fox & Friends")

A video posted to Facebook showing children at a Philadelphia Islamic center changing and calling for deaths in the name of Allah is "deeply disturbing" and "dangerous," Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., said Monday, adding he finds the reaction to the incident "infuriating."

"It is infuriating to see U.S. children being radicalized on U.S. soil," Rep. Zedlin told Fox News' "Fox & Friends." "When I told my wife about the video, she asked me what country did this happen in? I told her it was Philadelphia."

Muslim American Society Director Ayman Hammous said the video, which was posted on the Facebook page for the Muslim American Society's Philadelphia chapter, does not represent the organization's values and was not vetted before it was posted.

Zeldin said he finds the response from the Muslim group "even more infuriating" because "it indicates that maybe they aren't outraged at the fact that they are radicalizing and indoctrinating their own children. Maybe they are upset that they exposed themselves by posting a video that's their own Facebook account."

There is a lot more to the story and the incident requires more investigation, Zeldin said, because "you can't expect the Muslim American society to just investigate themselves. That's going to be unacceptable here."

He added the organization should not receive any federal funding, and he does not buy that the message was unintended.

"They had children talking about chopping off of heads and martyrs and liberating mosques," Zeldin said. "The message isn't one that you play and have these kids talk about unintended. That's unacceptable and obviously unbelievable."
