John Schnatter to Newsmax TV: Feeding Workers 'Obligatory'

(Newsmax TV's "American Agenda")

John Schnatter, the founder of Papa John's pizza franchise, told Newsmax TV on Wednesday his opening a kitchen in Kentucky to make meals for workers on the front lines of the coronavirus epidemic was "obligatory" for him.

Schnatter, who left the company he founded under controversial circumstances, joined with the owners of Kentucky's Castle and University of Kentucky men's basketball team coach John Calipari to make and serve 200 meals a day for healthcare workers and first responders.

He told "American Agenda" on Wednesday, it is "obligatory" to "always give back to your communities, and the people that really serve you. You have to serve them too."

"We've been feeding frontline defenders, frontline responders with hot meals, plate lunches, chicken, barbecue, pulled pork, you name it," Schnatter added.

"It's been a lot of fun; it's a blessing; and it's just one less thing they have to worry about."
