Vice President Joe Biden joked with Harvard University students that his job can be "a b—" during an event at the Ivy League school Thursday, drawing laughs from the students.

Story continues below video.

While Biden was fielding questions from the student body, one was introduced to him as being the Student Council vice president, reports CNN, tweeting that Biden responded:
He quickly clarified that he was just kidding:
Biden's outspokenness has often won him laughs and fans from jokers, but has embarrassed the White House, reports The Hill.

He even jokes that "no one ever doubts that I mean what I say — the problem is I sometimes say all that I mean."

Also on Thursday at Harvard, Biden took aim at former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta for making "inappropriate" criticisms in his book "Worthy Fights" at President Barack Obama and his strategy in Syria, reports The Huffington Post.

"We Americans think, in every country in transition, there's a Thomas Jefferson hiding behind some rock or a James Madison beyond one sand dune," he said. "The fact of the matter is, the ability to identify a moderate middle in Syria was, there was no moderate middle, because the moderate middle are made up of shopkeepers, not soldiers."

And as far as Panetta, without directly mentioning his name, Biden commented that he's finding "that former administration officials, as soon as they leave, write books, which I think is inappropriate. But any rate," Biden said, trailing off as a few in the audience laughed. "No, I’m serious. I do think it's inappropriate. At least give the guy a chance to get out of office."

Just last month, Biden's statements made news once again, when he said predatory lenders are "shylocks" and called Singapore politician Lee Kuan Yew "the wisest man in the Orient."

In addition, The Hill reports, Biden told a Democratic women's forum that he misses working with Republicans such as former Sen. Bob Packwood of Oregon, drawing criticism because Packwood had resigned his seat because of accusations of sexual harassment.
