Actresses Jessica Chastain and Sophie Turner have added their names to a list of performers who are refusing to work in states with restrictive abortion laws.
The "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" actresses told Sky News their names are among the signatures on a March letter opposing Georgia's "heartbeat" abortion ban, first reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
"There's a letter going around that I signed saying I'm not going to work in any state that denies rights for women, for the LGBTQ community, for anyone," Chastain, 42, told Sky News, adding: "I'm not going to work in a state that discriminates."
Former "Game of Thrones" star Turner said she has not told her agent about her stance.
"They're going to be like: 'What? You can't work in these states?'" 23-year-old Turner said. "Yeah, I can't work in these states."
Georgia’s controversial legislation bans abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which can occur as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. The law is poised to go into effect Jan. 1, 2020.
