An email from 2017 reveals that Hunter Biden referred to both his father, Joe Biden and his Chinese business partner, as well as his stepmother and uncle as "office mates" at his former office building in Washington D.C. and asked keys be made for them, according to a new report.
"[P]lease have keys made available for new office mates," Hunter Biden wrote in the email, dated Sept. 21, 2017.
He then listed the office mates as his father, his stepmother Jill Biden, his uncle Jim Biden, and Gongwen Dong, calling him the "emissary" for the chairman of Chinese energy conglomerate CEFC, reports The Daily Caller, which obtained a copy of the documents.
He also asked a sign be made for his office calling it "The Biden Foundation" and "Hudson West (CEFC US)."
The email was sent to Cecilia Browning, the general manager of the office building, the House of Sweden. She responded, she was "very excited and honored to welcome your new colleagues!"
She did not dispute the authenticity of the emails when the Daily Caller forwarded them to her for review Friday, but she also declined to comment on them.
The dealings between Hunter Biden and CEFC in 2017 were the focus of allegations from his former business partner, Tony Bobulinski, who said in October that Joe Biden had been "plainly familiar" with the business dealings of his family in China. Biden has denied any knowledge of his son's business activities.
Multiple news outlets have reported in the past week there is a probe into Hunter Biden's overseas business dealings, including with CEFC. The company is out of business now, but at the time, it was China's fourth-largest energy company.
Hunter Biden said he has been notified federal prosecutors have been investigating his tax affairs.
It is not known if his father visited the D.C. office, but the request for keys to the suite is raising questions about how much the former vice president knew about his family's dealings in China.
Hunter Biden's attorney and Joe Biden's transition team did not respond for comment.
Meanwhile, just two months before Hunter Biden asked for the office Keys, CEFC had wired almost $5 million to Hudson West III, according to a Senate committee report released in September.
The report added, starting on the day CEFC wired the funds to Hunter Biden's company through September 2018, Hudson West sent a total of $4.79 million to Hunter Biden's law firm, Owasco, for consulting fees.
In addition, between August 2017 and August 2018, Owasco wired $1.4 million to James Biden's consulting firm, the Lion Hall Group, the report said.
All of the transactions were flagged by federal officials for potential criminal financial activity.
