Trump: 'Zero' Responsibility for Impeachment

President Donald Trump says he will not be on the hook for getting impeached by the House on Wednesday, reports The Hill.

"No, I don't take any – zero, to put it mildly," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office Tuesday when asked whether he took any responsibility for being in the situation.

"They took a perfect phone call that I had with the president of Ukraine, an absolutely perfect call — you know it, they all know it — nothing was said wrong on that call. To impeach the president of the United States for that is a disgrace, and it's a mark on our country."

Trump later sent House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., a six-page letter objecting to the articles of impeachment, accusing Democrats of "perversion of justice and abuse of power" in their effort to remove him from office.

The president also repeated his objections to the process of the inquiry in the letter.

The House is set to vote on two articles of impeachment Wednesday: obstruction of Congress and abuse of power. Both are expected to pass, though no Republicans are expected to vote to impeach Trump.
