President Donald Trump will not spend the holidays in Florida as planned if the government shuts down Saturday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday.

Trump intended to leave Washington on Friday at the start of a 16-day stay at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, for Christmas and New Year's.

With a partial government shutdown looming, the plan was scrapped, Sanders said, The Hill reported.

Trump earlier Thursday doubled-down on his demand there be funds in any spending deal to build a border wall — and might veto any funding bill without money for the wall.
