A Florida county Republican Party office was damaged by gunshots fired into the front window sometime before it opened Monday, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

No one was injured at Volusia County’s GOP office in South Daytona, but police Capt. Mark Cheatham told the news outlet  at least four shots were fired through the front window, breaking the glass and damaging drywall inside.

A volunteer reported the incident; police believe the shooting took place between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, and they are looking for surveillance footage from neighboring businesses, the news outlet reported.

Volusia County Republican chair Tony Ledbetter blamed unidentified Democrats.

“You’ve got some sick person, and I’ll call them out, they’re Democrats,” he told WFTV. “No Republican has any reason to come attack our location.”

But the incident drew widespread bipartisan condemnation in the wake of a Pennsylvania synagogue shooting that killed 11 people.

“The hatred that is consuming our state and country helps no one and hurts us all,” the League of Women Voters of Florida and the Florida Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence said in a statement, the news outlet reported.

Florida GOP Gov. Rick Scott, who is vying to replace Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson in Florida’s Senate race, also tweeted his denouncement of the shooting.

And Tallahassee Mayor and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum tweeted there’s “no room for violence or intimidation in this election.”
