Widely Criticized Fox Series 'Lucifer' Pilot Leaked

The pilot to the new Fox series "Lucifer" has leaked, offering a more extensive glimpse into the series widely criticized for glorifying Satan.

Pilots for "Lucifer" along with Fox's "Minority Report" and NBC's "Blindspot" were all stolen by hackers and released onto torrent sites, the UK’s Independent is reporting.  The series isn't expected to officially debut until mid-season in 2016.

Story continues below video.

The trailer, which was first released in May, shows the character Lucifer with a woman when she is shot and killed, which throws him into the middle of a murder investigation.

When asked how he managed to escape the "hailstorm of bullets," he replies that it's "the benefits of immortality."

Lucifer, who is sometimes shown with red eyes, adds that "someone out there needs to be punished," to which a woman replies, "Stop caring. You're the devil."

He is then met with an angel from hell who tells him that he needs to return to the underworld.

"Lucifer" is loosely based on the character Lucifer Morningstar, who first appeared in "The Sandman," which is published by DC Comics, before getting his own "Lucifer" series.

When Fox first announced the series, it was widely criticized by Christian and pro-family groups, such as the American Family Association.

Dr. Richard Land of the Southern Evangelical Seminary told Newsmax that "Lucifer" is "obscene" and "blasphemous."
