he Buzz blog of the St. Petersburg Times reports. Scott’s new Department of Families and Children secretary, David Wilkins, believes the governor could challenge a recent Miami court ruling that declared Florida’s gay-adoption ban unconstitutional.
Whether he will do so remains to be seen. Scott would only say that whatever position he takes on the issue “will be enforced.” Observers see the possibility of a challenge in his appointment of Wilkins, who previously worked with a Baptist children’s home that allows only “professing Christians” to adopt children in its care.
