Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk took some shots at the media during a flurry of tweets aimed at critics of his Tesla car business Wednesday.

Musk, whose net worth according to Forbes is nearly $20 billion, began by saying the American public does not respect the news media.

He then posted several other tweets, including a response to someone who compared him to President Donald Trump. Other messages he posted referenced his idea to create a website that would allow people to rate the credibility of media outlets.

Musk's SpaceX company has conducted several launches this year and is valued at more than $20 billion, according to Forbes. Tesla, on the other hand, has dealt with several recent fatal crashes of its cars that were operating via the autopilot system.

Tesla is also in the midst of developing the less expensive Tesla Model 3. It was revealed this week the car's braking system needs to be improved before the vehicle is available to the public.
