Donald Trump may be a billionaire, but he's got fast-food tastes, calling foods like Big Macs and Filet-o-Fish sandwiches "great stuff" and eating plenty of food from a bag during his campaign swings.
Trump enjoyed Wendy's food while flying on his custom plane on a campaign swing in Iowa earlier this year, and ate McDonald's in New Hampshire, reports The Washington Post, and he'd just as soon skip breakfast, but when he does it it, he likes bacon and eggs or corn flakes.
For dinner, he likes starchy foods like potatoes au grautin, pasta, and when he has a steak, he wants it very well-done, cooked so much that it "would rock on the plate," his longtime Palm Beach butler commented to The New York Times in a story
And aside from fast food, there is another meal that Trump loves beyond most others, sources told The Post: meatloaf. The dish, based on a family recipe, even appears on his Mar-a-Lago menu, and his sister, federal judge Maryanne Trump Barry, makes it for his birthday.
When it comes to snack foods, Trump said Oreo cookies are the "craziest" thing he has eaten on the road, and he enjoys See's candies or cherry vanilla ice cream. He drinks Diet Coke with his meals, as he does not drink alcohol, even though his name is on a wine label through a winery owned and operated by his son Eric.
One reason he likes fast food so much, Trump told CNN, is because the restaurants are clean. He has a well-known aversion to germs and shaking hands, and said that fast food restaurants are clean because "one bad hamburger, and you can destroy McDonald's."
He does, though, have a healthy appetite, and his daughter Ivanka is not happy about her dad's eating habits, telling Barbara Walters in an interview that she wants him to eat more healthy foods and more slowly, "but it’s the only speed he knows.”
