GOP frontrunner Donald Trump said it was "disgusting" how Sen. Bernie Sanders let a protester take over the Democratic presidential candidate's rally in Seattle – and vowed "that will never happen to me."

"I don't know if I'll do the fighting myself or other people will," he said at a campaign event in Michigan.

Story continues below video.

At a Sanders campaign event last Saturday, the Vermont lawmaker was forced off the stage when organizers of the Black Lives Matter movement in Seattle took over the microphone, Talking Points Memo reports.

Sanders thanked Seattle for being "one of the most progressive cities in the United States of America" but was immediately confronted by Marissa Janae Johnson and Mara Jacqeline Willaford, co-founders of Seattle's Black Lives Matter chapter, who demanded a turn at the mic.

Campaign organizers tried to get the women to let Sanders speak first, but they refused, staying on stage until campaign organizers said they were shutting the event down.

"I would never give up my microphone," Trump declared when asked about the incident.

"I thought that was disgusting. That showed such weakness, the way he was taken away by two young women."

"The audience, which liked him… they were saying 'what's going on, how can this happen?'" Trump added. "[I]t showed that he was weak. … We're the two getting the crowds, but believe me that's not going to happen to Trump."

#BlackLivesMatter tweeters immediately jumped on Trump's challenge, with one poster writing:

"Trump just called us out let's make sure we take his [expletive] mic!!! Republicans are the real enemies."

Another Black Lives Matter supporter upped Trump's ante:

And another vowed to "show him what time it is":
