The Democratic National Committee is reportedly requiring at least one woman would moderate each of the 2020 Democratic presidential debates.

In an interview with Refinery 29, DNC senior adviser Mary Beth Cahill declared the party committee "is committed to an inclusive and fair debate process."

"That means that all 12 DNC sanctioned debates will feature a diverse group of moderators and panelists including women and people of color, ensuring that the conversations reflect the concerns of all Americans," she said.

The news outlet reported it is apparently the first time the DNC has made such a rule.

The first Democratic Primary debate will take place in June, The Hill reported.

Twenty-four people are vying for the Democratic Party's nomination, with 20 having met at least one qualifying criteria — reaching either 1 percent support in three DNC-recognized polls or garnering 65,000 individual donors in at least 20 states, The Hill reported

The DNC has said it will prioritize candidates who meet both requirements, the news outlet reported.
