Some Walt Disney World resorts changed their "Do Not Disturb" signs to read "Rooms Occupied," so staffers can enter rooms daily, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
"The Disney Resort hotel and its staff reserve the right to enter your room, even when this sign is displayed, for maintenance, safety, security, or any other purpose," read the new signs.
Hotel staffers will knock and identify themselves before entering rooms, and guests are being notified about the policy upon arrival.
The changes took effect at the Polynesian Village Resort, Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Contemporary Resort and its connected Bay Lake Tower, and Disney said it made its decision based on a number of factors, including security, safety, and guest experience.
The move follows a mass shooting in Las Vegas where gunman Stephen Paddock shot into a concert from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, killing 58 people and wounding hundreds.
Paddock, who was in his suite for four days before the shooting, reportedly put a "Do Not Disturb" sign on his door and moved 10 suitcases containing 23 weapons into his room.
Disney would not say whether the shooting prompted the policy change.
