Rice to Campaign With Ryan in Ohio

Tuesday, 16 Oct 2012 12:21 PM

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will hit the campaign trail with Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan in Ohio on Wednesday, according to the Toledo Blade.

Ohio, a hotly contested battleground state, will be inundated with candidates and their surrogates this week and up until the election. Rice and Ryan will hold a rally at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, just outside of Cleveland.

Ryan is coming off a campaign stop on Monday in Cincinnati. First lady Michelle Obama made a campaign stop in the Buckeye State on Monday too, speaking to supporters at Ohio Wesleyan University in central Ohio.

President Barack Obama will also be in Ohio on Wednesday, at Ohio University in Athens. And Ryan and Mitt Romney campaigned in different Ohio cities Saturday.

Finally, former President Bill Clinton and Bruce Springsteen will campaign Thursday for Obama in Parma, Ohio.

The appearance by Rice is the first for the GOP since her speech at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, which drew rave reviews.

During Monday’s appearance, Ryan told hundreds of supporters that they're in "the battleground state of battleground states" and that they must vote for growth over stagnation in three weeks.
