A 26-year-old blogger received a letter from Hillary Clinton telling her to "continue writing and speaking out" after she wrote a story that trashed President Donald Trump and his election victory.
Lauren Duca penned an article for Teen Vogue in December that accused Trump of "gaslighting America" to win the presidency. She had a high-profile spat with Fox News host Tucker Carlson later in the month regarding her piece, and in January The New York Times wrote a profile about her.
Clinton, a Democrat who lost to Trump in the November election, noticed the attention Duca was garnering and wrote her a letter, which Duca published on her Twitter feed:
"As we know all too well, the internet is not a friendly place for women, especially those who aren't afraid to speak their minds and challenge established systems of power," Clinton wrote.
"And so I applaud you, and hope you will continue writing and speaking out. Your voice is so important."
