Chris Christie Will Lose His Stadium Suite for Super Bowl

By    |   Tuesday, 17 September 2013 12:20 PM EDT

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will not be getting a suite at MetLife Stadium when his state hosts Super Bowl XLVIII in February.

"The governor does not have a suite for the Super Bowl," Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak told The Star-Ledger. "But he is the governor of New Jersey and a huge sports and NFL fan. I think it's safe to say that come hell or high water, he'll be in MetLife Stadium somewhere on game day."

Christie, a Republican, said while co-hosting WFAN's "Boomer and Carton" sports radio show last month that he would pick people to join him in the governor's luxury suite at the stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., for the Feb. 2 game.

But Christie's regular-season luxury box won't be available to him for the Super Bowl. Organizers will the luxury suites at premium prices, which have yet to be announced by the New York/New Jersey Host Committee.
