Staff for the GOP-led Senate Judiciary Committee Judiciary reportedly called Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Wednesday night to question him about a third accuser who came forward earlier in the day.
In a tweet, The Washington Post journalist Seung Min Kim cited an unnamed source reporting the call concerned Julie Swetnick, who has provided a sworn affidavit that Kavanaugh and high school classmate Mark Judge were allegedly at a booze and sex party in the 1980s.
Both Republican and Democrats were on the call "but only" GOP members asked questions because Democrats "strongly objected to these allegations being handled piecemeal by committee staff and not by a thorough and non-partisan FBI investigation,” she tweeted.
Kavanaugh is set to testify in a hearing Thursday that will also question Christine Blasey Ford, a California psychology professor who has accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her at a party while they were both in high school.
