June 4 (Bloomberg) -- New York Governor Andrew Cuomo will ask legislators to decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana that’s in public view, according to an administration official who declined to be identified.

Cuomo will make the announcement today, according to the official, who said he isn’t authorized to speak publicly about the governor’s plans. The person declined to define how much a small amount of pot is.

The governor’s marijuana decriminalization plans were reported today by the New York Times.
