Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and actress Alyssa Milano appear to be setting up a meeting in Washington to discuss gun control.

The two tweeted back-and-forth after Saturday's shooting in Odessa, Texas, after Milano fired off a message to a state Republican lawmaker who had tweeted that "none of these so-called gun-control solutions will work to stop a person with evil intent," reports The Hill.

"Can someone cite which passage of the Bible God states it is a god-given right to own a gun?" she asked, with Cruz responding, "it is of course not the right to a modern-day firearm that is God-given but rather the right to Life & the right to Liberty."

He continued by telling her, "essential to that right to life is the right to DEFEND your life & your family...Forcible gun confiscation (as some 2020 Dems urge) won't prevent mass-murders. But it would weaken our self-defense."

Their debate continued, with Milano finally making a request to "come in and meet with you on the gun issue and many other issues that include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Cruz responded he would be "happy to sit down & visit next week about uniting to stop gun violence & about the Constitution."

It was not clear if they confirmed a date or time that the meeting will take place, but Milano said she wanted it live-streamed so "the American people can hear your bull***t firsthand."

Seven were killed in the Odessa shootings Saturday and last month, a rampage at an El Paso, Texas, Walmart left 22 dead.

Milano, a celebrity activist, and other high-profile people have called for gun control policy changes after the shootings. Cruz, meanwhile, is a prominent gun-rights supporter whose campaigns have been fueled by hundreds of thousands of dollars from the National Rifle Association.
