A major media campaign in support of the Keystone XL pipeline was launched Tuesday in an effort to build momentum for the pending project.
The "Who Supports" campaign by the American Petroleum Institute highlights endorsements from top national newspapers and notable figures including Warren Buffett and former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush,
Politico reported.
"It drives home the point that Americans of all political stripes representing a diverse range of industries support the Keystone XL pipeline," Cindy Schild, the group's downstream-operations senior manager, told reporters on a conference call.

The television, print, and online ads initially are running in the Washington, D.C., market, and will appear in eight states during the August congressional recess.
The pipeline would carry crude oil from Alberta, Canada, to Texas refineries. Backers have pointed to its safety benefits in light of the
explosion Saturday in Canada of a train carrying oil. At least 13 people were killed in the explosion and fire.
President Barack Obama has said he would approve the project if it doesn't significantly increase carbon emissions. http://www.moneynews.com/Economy/Obama-Keystone-oil-pipeline/2013/06/25/id/511835 API says the time has come to move forward with the project.
"The approval should be a foregone conclusion," Schild said, according to Politico.
"But it hasn't been because of the political nature of the project. This pipeline could have been built twice already…Every other pipeline project has been approved, and this should be no different."
