A freak zipline accident on a couple's honeymoon in Honduras left the groom dead and his new wife in serious condition.

Egael Tishman, 24, an Israeli man, crashed into his bride, Shif Fanken, 27, when she became entangled in the cable, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported

“The girl stayed halfway on the cable and the guy came from behind and hit her,” local firefighter Wilmer Guerrero told newspaper La Prensa.

The incident happened near Roatan. The couple was on a honeymoon cruise and the ship made a stop at Roatan, a popular tourist island off the mainland.

Fanken was initially rushed to a local hospital, then airlifted to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she’s being stabilized and treated for now nonlife-threatening injuries, JTA reported.

Tishman’s body will be sent back to Israel for burial.
