The world's largest cruise ship will be a new one Royal Caribbean expects to debut in 2016.
The new cruise ship, to be called Harmony of the Seas, will be 227,000 gross registered tons, which is 1,718 tons and 41 staterooms larger than
Royal Caribbean’s next-largest ship, The Orlando Sentinel reported.
The 16-deck Harmony of the Seas is under construction in France.
Features of the ship will include three multi-deck water slides, virtual balconies in inside staterooms, a bar with robot bartenders, and exclusive areas for those who book suites.
The world's largest cruise ship will be in Royal Caribbean’s Oasis class series, the first of which — Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas — debuted in 2009 and 2010.
The ship will include seven neighborhoods: Central Park, Boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, the Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, Entertainment Place, and the Youth Zone.
“The Oasis class ships continue to astound and delight both new and experienced cruisers. They shatter preconceived notions of what cruising can be and continue to stand in a category by themselves,”
Royal Caribbean Cruises CEO Richard D. Fain said, according to the Miami Herald. “With Harmony of the Seas, we are making the most exciting experience at sea even better.”
