Authorities in Saudi Arabia said Sunday they had stopped a terror plot by ISIS-linked terrorists who planned to bomb a 2018 World Cup qualifying match held earlier this month.

Sixty thousand fans attended the match on Oct. 11 at Al-Jawhara stadium in Jeddah between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Saudi law enforcement also said it had dismantled two terror cells and arrested four suspects from each cell, according to the Daily Mail.

One cell placed nearly 900 pounds of bombs inside a car outside the stadium, but the bombs were discovered and diffused before they could be detonated, according to The Jerusalem Post. The blast radius of the bombs would have been more than half a mile wide.

The cell’s members were Pakistanis, a Syrian, and a Sudanese, the Saudi interior ministry said. The other group was made up of Saudis who reported to an ISIS leader in Syria and was plotting attacks against security forces. The suspects all confessed to their involvement, the Daily Mail reported.

ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has called for attacks on Saudi Arabia because it is part of the U.S.-led coalition in Syria and Iraq that seeks to stop ISIS. Saudi authorities arrested 19 people in July after three suicide bombings killed four people on July 4. One of the bombings took place near the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. Twelve of the 19 arrested were Pakistanis, and the bombings were linked to ISIS.

The soccer match was won by a score of 3-0 by Saudi Arabia.
