A women-only island off the coast of Finland where men will not be allowed to visit or stay is being created by blogger Kristina Roth.

Kristina Roth, who writes the lifestyle blog SuperShe, is establishing a resort on the island that has room for 10 women to stay for the purposes of female bonding and encouragement, CNN reported.

Roth is a former consultancy business CEO and says that she lived in a male-dominated world before meeting "a lot of amazing women" on her travels and through the blog, CNN reported. When Roth's boyfriend introduced her to Finland's beauty, she bought the island and renovated it into the SuperShe resort.

Roth plans to open the resort in July, but says until then it will be by invitation only and that she will pick the visitors herself, CNN reported.

Although some have criticized the resort for being anti-men, Roth says she just wants a place where women don't have to deal with sexual tension and can "nurture each others' dreams and desires," the Independent reported. She said she could be open to male visitors in the future.

Other critics have said that they fear the resort will exclude minorities, the LGBT community and those with low incomes that can't afford the resort's prices, but Roth claims that all will be welcomed at SuperShe in due time, CNN reported.

"If you identify yourself as a woman then that's great," she said. "So we're not exclusive."

Visitors will have to become VIP members of the SuperShe community to come to the resort in June when it is tested, but in July, it will open to the public.
