William Shatner will host an officially licensed "Star Trek" cruise on Jan. 9, 2017, as part of the show's 50th anniversary celebration.
"When I was told that this was the first authorized "Star Trek" cruise and part of the 50th anniversary celebration, I just knew that my participation would be something that our fans would enjoy. It should be a lot of fun," Shatner said upon the announcement,
USA Today reported.
According to the cruise website, other stars attending include Marina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes from "Star Trek: The Next Generation," Robert Picardo from "Star Trek: Voyager," James Darren from "Deep Space Nine," Denise Crosby from "The Next Generation," as well as John de Lancie from "The Next Generation," "Voyager," and "Deep Space Nine."
The Enterprise Blues Band featuring Vaughn Armstrong, Steve Rankin, and Casey Biggs — who've also appeared in the shows — will perform aboard the ship.
The Norwegian Pearl ship, which will welcome approximately 2,200 fans for 6 days and nights, is set to visit Cozumel, Mexico; Nassau, Bahamas; and the cruise line's private island, Great Stirrup Cay.
Tickets range from $975 to $7,500.
The Guardian (UK) reported that the Star Trek cruise has been running for years, however the upcoming anniversary celebration voyage will be the first official one.
