President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden's two German shepherds have left the White House after a “biting incident” involving a member of White House security last week, sources revealed to CNN. Major, 3, and Champ, who is approximately 13 years old, were sent back to the Biden family home in Wilmington, Delaware.

The condition of the person who was bitten is not known.

Major, who was adopted in November 2018 from a Delaware animal shelter, has previously shown agitated behavior, which included jumping, barking, and "charging" at staff and security, according to the report. Champ has meanwhile reportedly "slowed down physically" due to his age.

The two dogs moved into the White House days after Biden's inauguration in January. Major became the first rescue dog to live there and was even "inaugurated" during an animal adoption awareness campaign that raised $200,000 for the Delaware Humane Association.

During a previous appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Jill said she was "obsessed" with getting the two dogs settled in the White House.

"They have to take the elevator, they're not used to that, and they have to go out on the South Lawn with lots of people watching them," she said. "So that's what I've been obsessed with, getting everybody settled and calm."
