Volkswagen has issued a recall for nearly 3,000 2015 Golf and GTI vechicles due to a stabilizer link fastener problem that could affect steering and raise the risk of a crash.
USA Today reported 2,001 of the recalled VW cars were already the possession of customers, and another 811 were still on car lots.

Dealers were told they couldn't sell them, but VW says those have probably all been fixed by now, USA Today said. Volkswagen said it didn't know of any accidents or injuries caused by the issue.
The cars need the vertical stabilizer bar links replaced. The faulty part helps attach the stabilizer bar to the vehicle.
The news of VW's recall broke on the same day
Chrysler issued a recall for 900,000 SUV's to fix a mirror light issue in sun visors that could possibly short-circuit start fires.
While all recalls should be taken seriously, VW and Chrysler's seem small in comparison to the 29 million vehicles GM has recalled this year for issues including ignition switches and electrical problems.
