Uber is helping voters get to the polls on Election Day by offering a $10 discount on their rides, the company announced Wednesday.

Earlier this month Uber said it would be using its technology to help voters get to the polls on Nov. 6 to cast their vote, and now the ride-hailing company has expanded upon that concept to offer discounted rides to voters.

To take advantage of the offer, customers have to make sure they have the latest version of the Uber app installed, and then need to enter the Election Day promo code, which will be made available on Nov. 6.

The discounted offer only applies to rides directly to polling stations and does not include Utah, Michigan and Puerto Rico.

Uber has already partnered with #VoteTogether and Democracy Works to ensure transport is not a barrier to those who may have otherwise battled to get to the polls.

Over 150,000 potential voters have received promo codes through #VoteTogether, enabling them to get a ride to and from the polls.

Lyft has implemented a similar concept, offering 50 percent off rides across the country to voters, and free rides to those in communities struggling to get to the polls on Election Day.

As the company noted, over 15 million people were registered but didn’t vote in 2016 because of transportation issues.

Lyft has partnered with Vote.org, Nonprofit Vote, TurboVote and other organizations to distribute promo codes to those who need them.
