1. 9/11 anniversary rainbow — A stunning rainbow appeared over New York City on Thursday, the day before the 14th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks. First captured by residents who posted photos on social media, the rainbow appeared from many vantage points to emerge from the new One World Trade Center building. Passengers escape burning jet in Las Vegas — Chris Henkey, the pilot for the British Airways plane that caught fire on a Las Vegas runway, said he's retiring a few days early after the Tuesday incident.
