Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson say they are feeling better after spending several days in quarantine following their brush with the coronavirus.
Hanks shared their latest health update on Twitter Sunday.
"Hey, folks. Two weeks after our first symptoms and we feel better," the Oscar-winning actor wrote. Hanks also stressed the importance of self-isolation amid the coronavirus epidemic.
"Sheltering in place works like this: You don’t give it to anyone," he continued, "You don’t get it from anyone. Common sense, no?"
Hanks further noted that, although it would take awhile, "if we take care of each other, help where we can, and give up some comforts… this, too, shall pass. We can figure this out."
The latest health update comes shortly after Hanks' sister Sandra Hanks Benoiton revealed that he was not doing "great" as he recovered from the coronavirus, which he and Wilson were diagnosed with nearly two weeks ago in Australia.
Hanks traveled to the Gold Coast to start filming for a biographical film about Elvis Presley but work on the project has been halted indefinitely, director Baz Lurhman announced Friday.
"I’m sure it will come as no surprise that this is not the moment to be resuming production on the film," he wrote. "Please know this is in no way a reflection on our commitment to make this movie here in Queensland. In fact, we are not even taking our sets down, simply locking up the creative space over the next few days," he added.
