A third London terrorist has been identified and named following the weekend’s London Bridge attack left seven dead and 48 injured. The three attackers were shot dead by police right after the attack.
Two of the attackers – Khuram Shazad Butt and Rachid Redouane – were identified on Monday, according to Fox News, and the last of the three, Youssef Zaghba, was named on Tuesday.
“While formal identification is yet to take place, detectives believe he is 22-year-old Youssef Zaghba, from east London. The deceased’s family have been informed,” Metropolitan Police said in a statement, per United International Press. “He was not a police or M15 subject of interest. All three men involved in the attack were confronted and shot dead by armed officers within 8 minutes of the first call.”
All three of the attackers, who also assaulted pedestrians in the Borough Market area on Saturday, were residents of London.
Butt, 27, was apparently born in Pakistan while Redouane, 30, claimed he was Moroccan and Libyan.
British officials haven’t been able to confirm whether the three attackers acted alone in Saturday’s attack, but the Islamic State claims it was involved.
“Detectives would like to hear from anyone who has any information about these men that may assist them with the investigation,” Met Police said. “They are particularly keen to hear about places they may have frequented and their movements in the days and hours before the attacks.”
Thirteen others – believed to have been involved in the incident as well – were arrested, but 12 of the 13 have been released since then.
The London Bridge and Borough Market attacks came just a week after the Manchester Arena bombing, which left 23 people, including the bomber, dead after an Ariana Grande concert.
President Donald Trump spoke in front of leaders from 50 Muslim majority countries last month, said Fox News.
During his speech, Trump threatened terrorists that “if you choose the path of terror, your life will be empty, your life will be brief, and your soul will be fully condemned.”
