A student who boasted about having coronavirus in a video that showed her at a party with friends is under investigation by Texas Tech University. The footage began to circulate on social media last weekend, prompting the university to address the issue on Twitter.

"We have received a report and are aware of a video related to COVID," the post shared on Sunday read. "The matter is being addressed by the Office of the Dean of Students and Student Conduct."

In the video clip, an unidentified woman is seen sitting with friends at a party.

"Yes I f****** have COVID, the whole f****** world has COVID," she says into the camera. "All of these people have COVID. So stop getting on my chest, stop getting on my chest. Like, I'm having a good time."

It is unclear whether or not the woman attends the university.

As of Sept. 8, there were 1,020 cases of coronavirus reported at Texas Tech University, 918 of which were students, according to the Daily Mail. The university's president, Lawrence Schovanec, admitted there were "challenges" that have presented themselves amid the pandemic.

"The first two weeks of classes have presented its share of challenges," he wrote in a letter. "I know that further challenges await us as we continue to work through this pandemic. I am proud of our university community and the way you have supported one another. I deeply appreciate all that you are doing."
