Texas police helped save Christmas for a Fort Worth family who had their presents stolen from the trunk of their vehicles just days before the holiday.

Brittney Curry called Fort Worth police Friday after discovering that the bikes, games, shoes, and clothing she bought as Christmas gifts with her holiday bonus were gone from her vehicle, according to Fox4News.com.

"There was no way we were going to be able to rebuy any of those gifts," Curry, who has three young boys and a baby on the way, told the local television station. "I was devastated . . . Who steals that kind of stuff? What kind of heart do you have?"

Curry said she had to break the news about the stolen gifts tp her sons, but the next day she received a huge surprise. The mother said she called the Fort Worth Police to follow up on the auto burglary investigation.

"He was like, 'I have three bags of gifts I want to bring over to you guys,'" Curry said the police officer on the phone told her, Fox4News.com reported

The officers brought over bags of toys donated to the department for young crime victims.

"It's nice to be able to have something just good happen." Fort Worth Officer Bradley Klingberg told the television station. "Any time you can go and make a real difference in someone's life, it feels really good."

Pictures of the exchange were posted on the Fort Worth Police Facebook page.

"This family had their Christmas gifts stolen," Fort Worth police wrote on Facebook. "Our West Unit decided to put a smile on the kids' faces and surprise them with a Christmas to remember."

Curry said that her boys were excited to see the police officer with the toys, the station noted.

"They were so talkative and amazing with the boys." said Curry “It turned a horrific Christmas into something I felt like is normal again."
