A Texas church shooting video details the methodical attack that left 26 people dead and another 20 women on Sunday, law enforcement officials told The New York Times.

The First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, was video recording its service to post later on the Internet, which it has routinely done, when the deadly shooting occurred.

The video has given authorities a detailed look at how Devin Kelley attacked the congregation with an assault rifle and magazines that held as many as 400 rounds of ammunition, the Times said.

An official told ABC News that a man identified by law enforcement as Kelley walked into the pews to execute victims. The source told the network that while the camera angle did not show most of the pews, it did show Kelley walking up and down the main aisle at least three times, firing the assault rifle the entire time.

Authorities said Kelley appeared to go into every pew to unload rounds on the congregation who had fallen to the floor seeking safety, ABC News reported. The gunman, who did not to appear to be in a rush, seemed to execute some, shooting some of the congregation in the head.

The source told ABC News that the scene was "eerily silent" beyond the sound of gunfire during the attack. Law enforcement agencies declined to tell the Times if the church video, which lasted seven minutes, would ever be publicly released.

"Absolute horror," paramedic Mike Shaw, of the La Vernia Emergency Medical Service said about the scene at the church just moments after Kelley left the scene, NBC News reported. Shaw and his wife, Jamie, also a paramedic, were the first to arrive on the scene, noted the network. "As far as the people, I think I knew a few of them."

Mike Shaw said when he heard the emergency radio scanner say "multiple casualties," the magnitude of what had happened did not really hit him until "we walked in the door."
