Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Secretary of State John Kerry, is in critical but stable condition at a Massachusetts hospital after suffering an unspecified "medical episode" Sunday.
Heinz Kerry, 74, heir to the Heinz ketchup fortune, reportedly had seizure-like symptoms on Sunday while
vacationing with Kerry at their family's home on Nantucket Island, according to The New York Times. She was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital and was later transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after her condition stabilized.

"The family is grateful for the outpouring of support it has received and aware of the interest in her condition, but they ask for privacy at this time," Kerry spokesman Glen Johnson said in a statement.
Heinz Kerry became a fixture on the American political scene during her husband's unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2004.
She was treated for breast cancer in 2009.
Many Twitter users, including a few celebrities, sent their get-well wishes to Heinz Kerry.
Heinz Kerry is the widow of former U.S. Senator John Heinz, who died in a plane crash in 1991. She married John Kerry in 1995.
