Music icon Debbie Harry is revisiting her turbulent past in a forthcoming memoir, and the stories she includes are unsettling.

The now 74-year-old shot to fame in the late 1970s as the singer for the band Blondie. Her career was punctuated with drug addiction and sexual experimentation, which she discusses in her book.

But before the fame, Harry was nearly abducted in Manhattan by a man she claims was serial killer Ted Bundy.

"It was the early Seventies, maybe '72. I was trying to get across town to a party. It was two or three o’clock in the morning and I was staggering around on huge platform shoes," she recounted in a previous interview, according to The Daily Mail. Harry said the driver offered her a ride, which she accepted after failing to catch a cab.

She recalled how the man had "an incredibly bad smell to him" and when she tried to open the window, there were no door handles or cranks in the car. Harry escaped by reaching out of the window, opening the door from the outside and jumping from the car. The driver tried to stop her but she managed to run away.

"Afterwards I saw him on the news. Ted Bundy: responsible for at least 30 homicides. I could so easily have been one his earliest victims," she said.

In her memoir, Harry also reveals how she was raped at knifepoint in the early 1970s.  At the time, she was at her New York home with her then-boyfriend Chris Stein when an armed robber entered their apartment and tied them up.

"He piled up the guitars and Chris’ camera and then he untied my hands and told me to take off my pants," Harry wrote in an excerpt of her book obtained by The Sun. The unidentified man then raped her. However, looking back to the incident, Harry said the stolen guitars hurt her more.
