Taylor Swift is being sued for allegedly stealing lyrics for her 2014 hit song, "Shake it Off."

Veteran songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler accused Swift of stealing at least 20 percent of the lyrics to their 2001 hit, "Playas Gon' Play," TMZ reported.

"Playas Gon' Play," released in 2001, was penned by Hall and Butler and recorded by girl group 3LW. Lyrics in the song, which hit No. 81 on the Billboard Hot 100, included, "Playas, they gonna play and haters, they gonna hate."

It is these lyrics that are alleged to have been copied by Swift in the "Shake it Off'" chorus: "Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play. And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate."

Swift, who wrote the song with Max Martin and Shellback, garnered widespread critical acclaim and three nominations at the 2015 Grammys for the single.

Co-plaintiffs Butler and Hall have worked with various industry stalwarts such as the Backstreet Boys, Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, Pink and Victoria Beckham.

Taylor's rep recently told TMZ, "This is a ridiculous claim and nothing more than a money grab. The law is simple and clear. They do not have a case."

This isn't the first time Swift has been sued for allegedly stealing lyrics for "Shake it Off." In November 2015, a judge dismissed a lawsuit by artist Jessie Graham, who demanded $42 million from the Swift, claiming that she ripped off his 2013 song, "Haters Gone Hate," People magazine noted.

News of the lawsuit drew mixed reactions on Twitter.
